You didn’t ask, but…

I simply want to say thank you to our troops!

As we here in America get ready to celebrate our nation’s birthday with the Fourth of July just around the corner I have joy and sadness in my heart.  I’m not one who plans on sharing my political beliefs on this site, but I will share some of my feelings with you.

The joy has to do with my pride in America .  I call it my home and I would never want to live anywhere else.  Everyday of my life I wake up and thank God that this is my country!

Whether or not I believe the war in Iraq is right or wrong is not important.  What I do know is that there are brave men and women doing the job that I’m not.  They are the reason I can sleep safely at night.

In a world of over paid athletes & celebrity’s whose main worries in life is how their family’s will survive on millions of dollars there are true heroes walking this planet.  They don’t get paid much, and their risk is far greater than anything I will ever encounter in my lifetime.

When my children look for role models and people to pattern their lives after I think the best thing I can do is turn off the television and open a book.  I’ll tell them about these GREAT men & women who did what they had to for our freedom.  They are truly incredible people who unintentionally became my heroes.

While this short essay doesn’t begin to say everything that is in my heart, it does give me the opportunity to tell the troops the most important thing I can…THANK YOU!  Thank you for your dedication, values, hard work and most of all giving me the freedom that I will enjoy for the rest of my life.  You are inspirational people and I will make sure my children grow up understanding the sacrifice you and so many others have made to make the world a better place, and I pledge to you that I will never forget what you have done for us!

          God bless you all!
